Nebahat’s artistic practice is invested in forming inter-cultural exchange and generating new forms of ideas and knowledge to cultural and artistic discourse in Australia and internationally. She is interested in how choreography can create new performance contexts using space, body and objects from an intersectional framework to create highly experimental pieces that challenge power.

Nebahat is an award-winning choreographer, ‘Best Dance’ for her work ‘Emptying the Bucket’ for Melbourne Fringe Festival and nominee for two Green Room awards for ‘Outstanding Creation’ and ‘Best Ensemble for her work ‘Conquest Of The Garden.

Live Art

Nebahat’s bold experimental live dance works push boundaries of what live performance is through the spatial, personal and physical limits of her performances. Additionally in each work, the reconfiguring of space, sound and objects that challenge, yet celebrates the improbable, where elusive moments of connection and interaction with the audience occur.
