Burqa Meets

Burqa Meets live art performance
‘Burqa’ is an performance internvention, where the audiences were asked if they would like to be dressed in burqas to bring physical proximity to the otherwise extraneous concept of the burqa.
If one was given the opportunity to dress in the burqa, could than this new experience alter the person’s awareness towards Muslim women in new light?
Once worn, the fabric, the sensations both restrict and reproduce the body, mind and spirit. Is it possible then for one to shift in perception, values and shift in his or her understanding what the body signifies?
