Cultural Memory

Cultural Memory live art performance
Cultural Memory takes place with a mental image from childhood memory of a family photograph. Using this mental, visual image and episodic memory theory to recreate with objects, a physical space of sensations, emotions and associations from a specific moment in time from the past. The spatial placements of the objects unfolding before us by the body, presents a new entirely unknown picture of both the past and present. This undercurrent of the sublime leaves one to deliberate the powerful imprint photographs leave on us, discerningly both shaping and informing our cultural lens and social lives.
Thank you for your powerful performance. It was the first time I saw your work live and it was totally different than seeing it on a screen. The concentration and intense structure can’t be transported in a proper way on a 2-dimensional screen.
